You will need to have a copy of the Maple software program in order to complete the course. The installation CD can be ordered online from the UW bookstore:

You could buy a copy directly from Maple's website, but it is more than twice as expensive so we don't recommend it.
The same bookstore CD works for all of Windows, Mac, and Linux. You should allow 2 weeks between placing the order and delivery, but if you pass by campus you can pick up a copy in person at the "CHIP" office. If you already have an older version of Maple you are welcome to try using it, and while we don't expect to use a lot of new features, we can't promise that the older versions will work 100%. If you ordered Maple 15 from the bookstore, they will re-send you Maple 16. They thought it would auto-upgrade from Maple 15 to 16, but this is not correct (it only auto-upgrades the sub-version to 15.01).
As of writing, Maple 16 is the version on sale in the bookstore.
You should have the most recent version of either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox installed on your system (Internet Explorer and Opera are not as reliable). All of the software other than Maple is free. You should install Java (from http://java.com/en/download/) if it's not already installed on your computer; this is just to run Java programs, we won't be programming in Java. The (short) installation instructions for LaTeX and GeoGebra will be part of the course notes.
